Connect Bluetooth printers to Poster for iOS and Android

Connect Bluetooth receipt printers to Poster POS for iOS and Android. Serve food outdoors, at festivals, or remote sites, without having extra wires and Wi-Fi networks.

☝️ Contact our support team to confirm your Bluetooth printer is compatible with Poster unless it's listed in Printer models supported by Poster.

Allow Poster app to use Location and Bluetooth:

iOS:

  1. Go to Settings and tap Poster in the app list.

  2. Enable the Bluetooth and Location to allow Poster work with the Bluetooth printer.

Bluetooth printer cannot be found on iOS or Android unless Poster app is allowed to use the device location.

Android:

  1. Go to Settings Apps on your Android device.

  2. Find Poster app and Tap Permissions.

    • If you allowed or denied any permissions for the app, you’ll find them here.

  3. To change a permission setting, tap it, then choose Allow or Don't allow.

  4. Enable the Bluetooth and Location permissions by choosing All the time or Allow only while using the app.

Connect Epson TM-P20 Bluetooth printer:

  1. Turn on the printer and open the cover.

  2. Hold Feed until printer beeps, and close the cover immediately.

  3. Bluetooth settings test will be printed.

iOS:

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth in tablet's Settings → Bluetooth.

  2. Tap the printer in Device list in Settings → Bluetooth.

  3. Wait until status changes to Connected.

  4. Launch and sign in to Poster POS app for iOS.

  5. Tap Devices at the top right to select a printer.

  6. Select printer from the device list.

  7. Enable Receipt slider to allow printing customer receipts.

  8. Enable Station sliders to allow printing tickets to Kitchen or Bar.

  9. Tap Print a test receipt to see if the printer works.

Android:

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth in tablet's Settings → Connections.

  2. Tap the printer in Available Devices.

  3. Wait until it gets displayed in Paired Devices.

  4. Launch and sign in to Poster POS app for Android.

  5. Tap Devices at the top right to select a printer.

  6. Select printer from the device list.

  7. Enable Receipt slider to allow printing customer receipts.

  8. Enable Station sliders to allow printing tickets to Kitchen or Bar.

  9. Tap Print a test receipt to see if the printer works.

💡 Identify devices by tapping Print test receipt in Devices if you have several printers connected at the same time,

💡 Change printer font size in Devices by tapping Settings and changing Paper width. For example:

  • Epson TM-P20 — 58 mm

Connect Other Bluetooth Printers:

☝️ Bluetooth printers always have a default name printed on a selftest. Usually, it's Bluetooth Printer or Bluetooth Thermal Printer. In case of a different name, the printer may not be found on the Poster POS for Android. To fix this, connect the printer with a USB cable to your PC or laptop and contact our customer support for configuration.

iOS

  1. Turn on the printer.

  2. Turn on the Bluetooth in tablet's Settings → Bluetooth.

  3. Tap the printer in Device list in Settings → Bluetooth.

  4. Wait until status changes to Connected.

  5. Launch Poster POS and search for a printer in Devices.

☝️ Allow Poster app to get Location in Apps → Poster. Bluetooth printer cannot be found on iOS or Android unless Poster app is allowed to use the device location.

Android

  1. Turn on the printer

  2. Turn on the Bluetooth in tablet's Settings → Connections.

  3. Tap the printer in Available Devices.

  4. Enter the password. Default password: 1234.

  5. Wait until it gets displayed in Paired Devices.

  6. Launch Poster POS and search for a printer in Devices.

💡 Some tablets can be paired with a Bluetooth Printer without a password.

☝️ Enable Default Printing Service in Connections → Printing for Huawei devices.
