What is order payment method?
Add new payment methods to track credit card types (such as Visa and Mastercard), employee lunches, delivery payments (like Uber Eats), and more. Filter sales reports by payment systems, delivery services, etc.
Poster comes with three default payment methods: cash, card, and gift card. You can add your own custom payment methods to the list.
Add order payment method:
Go to Settings → Orders in the management console.
Select Order payment methods tab.
Enter a method name in the Method title field. It will appear on receipts and POS registers.
Select a payment type: cash or cashless.
Select an icon color displayed on the POS.
Close orders with a new order payment method:
Click Pay in the opened receipt on the POS.
Select a payment method.
Payment methods limitations
☝️ Custom payment methods cannot be combined with others.
☝️ Custom payment methods are not integrated with payment gateways.
Link payment methods to financial account
Each payment method is associated with the respective account in Finances.
Cash methods transfer revenue to the Cash drawer account.
Cashless methods transfer revenue to the Bank account.
Poster automatically adds cash and cashless income transactions to Finances → Transactions when closing a cash shift. Custom payment methods will also have their own transactions.
To view sales reports by payment methods and find out how often custom payment methods are used go to Reports → Sales or Reports → Payments.
