To check cash shift's metrics:

  1. Go to Finances → Cash shifts in the management console.

  2. Set up the reporting period at the top right.

  3. Click cash shift to view transactions and cash shift metrics.

Cash shift's Expected and Actual balances show a planned and actual amount of cash by the end of the shift:

  • Expected balance is the shift's revenue according to Poster reports. Shift opening amount, sales, income/expense transactions altogether.

  • Actual balance is an actual shift closure sum mentioned by cashiers.

☝️ In case the Actual balance is higher or lower than the Expected one, Poster creates an adjustment transaction to update the amount of cash transferred to your financial accounts. By default, this transfer equals the cash shift's Expected balance.

💡 To track transactions they're highlighted accordingly:

Gray displays safe drop transactions;

Red displays expenses;

Green displays income.
