How to edit a table layout or hide the floor plan

Create, show or hide a table scheme of your serving areas in Poster

The floor plan is a scheme for table arrangement in your serving area. You can edit existing tables, create new ones, or change their names, shapes, and sizes.

You can also have several serving areas by adding extra floor sections. Like a terrace or other serving areas.

Edit a table layout on your floor plan

  1. Go to Settings → Tables in the management console.

  2. Add tables to the floor plan by clicking Add Table.

  3. Move tables by clicking and holding them, while moving the mouse.

  4. Change shape of the table by double-clicking it.

  5. Rename tables by clicking a table name.

  6. Change table size by holding and dragging the lower right corner of the table.

  7. Delete a table by clicking × at the top right.

  8. Click Save to apply changes.

Create additional floor sections

You can also switch between existing floor plans by selecting them. Add an extra floor section in case you have a terrace or other serving areas.

To add an extra floor section:

  1. Select a floor section by clicking its name at the top left.

  2. Click Add floor section.

  3. Enter name and select Location.

  4. Click Add.

To switch between floor sections:

  1. Go to Settings → Tables.

  2. Select a floor section by clicking its name at the top left.

Delete or edit floor sections

Delete, rename, or change the floor plan's location in Settings → Tables.

To delete a floor section:

  1. Select a floor section by clicking its name at the top left.

  2. Click Edit near the section name and then click Delete.

☝️ Deleting a floor section cannot be reverted

To rename a floor section:

  1. Select a floor section by clicking its name at the top left.

  2. Click Edit near the section name.

  3. Rename it and click Save.

To change the floor section's location:

  1. Select a floor section by clicking its name at the top left.

  2. Click Edit near the section name.

  3. Change Location where this floor section exists.

  4. Click Save.

Hide or show the floor plan

If you have a takeout cafe or counter service hide a floor plan:

  1. Go to Settings → General in the management console.

  2. Disable Show floor plan in Point of Sale settings section.

  3. Save the changes.

  4. Restart Poster POS app to apply changes.

💡 A new order is created automatically when you close the previous one.

💡 Disabling Show floor plan in Settings → General does not delete your floor sections.
